Accessibility Statement
HIT Leadership is committed to making HITigai accessible to everyone — regardless of disability, age, device, or assistive technology. This statement explains what we have done, what we are still working on, and how to reach us if you need help.
Our commitment
We believe that purpose discovery should be available to every person in society — not just those who happen to use a mouse, have perfect vision, or access the web on a high-end device. HITigai is designed and built with inclusion as a first-class concern, not an afterthought.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the entire application. Where we fall short, we commit to fixing issues as quickly as possible and communicating our progress openly.
Conformance status
HITigai is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The one remaining exception (the third-party Stripe checkout page) is outside our direct control. The following measures are in place:
- All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible and have visible focus indicators
- Colour contrast ratios meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text
- All images carry descriptive alt text; purely decorative images are marked with aria-hidden
- Form inputs are associated with visible labels via htmlFor/id pairs
- Assessment sliders carry aria-labelledby and aria-valuetext so screen readers announce the current value
- Multiselect and singleselect question buttons carry role=checkbox/radio and aria-checked
- Progress indicators carry aria-valuenow, aria-valuemin, and aria-valuemax
- Live regions (aria-live) announce dynamic content changes such as question counters
- Page sections use semantic HTML landmarks: <nav>, <main>, <footer>, <section>
- The viewport meta tag allows user pinch-zoom — we never block browser zoom
- A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page
- Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query
- The built-in Accessibility Toolbar lets users increase text size, enable high-contrast mode, and disable motion
Built-in Accessibility Toolbar
Every page of HITigai includes a floating accessibility button in the bottom-right corner (the universal accessibility icon). Clicking it opens a panel where you can:
- Increase text size to Large or X-Large
- Enable High Contrast mode for improved readability
- Enable Reduce Motion to stop all animations
Your preferences are saved automatically and restored on your next visit.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, the following areas are not yet fully accessible. We are actively working to resolve them.
Third-party payment flow
The Stripe checkout page is operated by Stripe, Inc. and is outside our direct control. Stripe publishes its own accessibility statement at stripe.com/accessibility.
Technical approach
HITigai is built with React 19, Tailwind CSS 4, and Radix UI primitives. Radix provides keyboard-accessible, screen-reader-friendly components for dialogs, dropdowns, sliders, and menus as a foundation. We supplement this with manual ARIA annotations and semantic HTML wherever Radix does not cover a specific pattern.
We test with keyboard-only navigation, macOS VoiceOver, and automated contrast checking during development. We welcome reports of issues we have missed.
Feedback & contact
We welcome all feedback about the accessibility of HITigai. If you experience a barrier that prevents you from using any part of the application, or if you need content in an alternative format, please contact us — we aim to respond within 5 working days.
Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) if you are in Northern Ireland.
This statement was prepared in April 2026 and will be reviewed annually or whenever significant changes are made to the application. It covers the HITigai web application at ikigaiapp-ev8pszov.manus.space.
